I hope you’ve all had a great week so far. I sure did…Today, I would like to share a very special friend of mine with you all. Kerry is an amazing artist – the best I’ve come to know actually – and she so kindly has agreed to share with us some of her most recent breathtaking work.  Kerry’s husband, Nathaniel is our Monday guest contributor. This is one talented couple and I am so proud to call them my friends:)

In Kerry’s words…
“I developed a love for representational art and portraiture while studying at a young age with a local artist and teacher. My interest in traditional art forms led me to study at the Ukrainian Academy of Art in Kiev, and the Repin Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia. I furthered my studies at the New York Academy of Art.

I strive to include stark and simple compositions in my work, allowing common and familiar subjects to be graced with beauty and dignity. I am currently developing a body of work which includes very small graphite drawings. I have found this medium allows me to present my subjects in great detail, and has also freed me to focus on the more creative aspects of developing a narrative through a series of related drawings. “

Thank you, Kerry for sharing some of your work here with us! I look forward to seeing more of it each week.

Have a lovely weekend, everyone!
