Award of Excellence for Silhouette Art!!

Writing a book is kind of a big deal (for me at least!). Having your book receive an award of excellence, well, that is huge!!

I just received the best piece of mail ever, the official letter stating that my book, Silhouette Art, has been awarded the 2011 Award of Excellence in the 52nd Annual Design Exhibition! My publishing company, Chronicle Books, entered Silhouette Art in a design competition, and it won! In my editor’s words “…We entered it in honor of all its merits: the strategic pairing of form with content, attention to details and production effects, and the sophisticated and charming design.”

I feel so truly blessed to have worked with an amazing team. I am particularly happy that I get to work with my art director, Ayako Akazawa again for my second book. More on that later! For now I just wanted to share this awesome news with you all and thank you for continuing to support me and my dream.
