2011 | Year Review

As we say “goodbye” to 2011, I couldn’t help but ponder at all that has happened this year – both professionally and personally. Taking some time to reflect in the past and look forward to the future and all the excitement that comes with it.

2011 started on a very exciting note. I attended the Dreamer’s into Doers 2011 event where I got to meet the one and only Martha Stewart, attend a handful of workshop, meet some inspiring women entrepreneurs and made some great new friends.

In early Spring I approached Chronicle Books to work on a new book/kit of which I signed the contract for in the Summer. The book will be published Fall 2012 (more on this soon). This will be my second book with Chronicle – my first book, Silhouette Art was given the Award of Excellence  – which it’s kind of a big deal! I am thrilled about the second book and can’t wait to see how it will be received.

Le Papier Studio received some amazing press this year. We were one of Babbles Top 50 Etsy Moms, CBS Los Angeles, NBC Today Show, Daily Candy, Cool Mom Picks, InStyle, Country Living, Chicago Social Brides, Pregnancy & Newborn, Family Circle, Romantic Homes etc.And who knew I would outgrow my studio so fast. In December I moved into a new, bigger home for Le Papier Studio. There’s so much open space and a lot of room to be inspired and create. Pictures of the new space coming soon.

2011 was a great year both professionally and personally. Our faith was tested many times and our patience challenged. Aaron went on unemployment but thank God got a great job shortly after. Nikolas and I were able to visit my home after 3 years of being there. We spent a month with my family and had a wonderful time.

In July, we received the biggest blessing our family could have asked for! We found out we were expecting. God has once again shown us his grace and love  and we are humbled yet thrilled to welcome baby Chupp in our family this coming March.

Life couldn’t look better right now! I wanted to thank all of our readers, friends and customers for continuing to believe in us. Your support means so much! If I could close with a wish I would say “Believe in your wildest dreams!” and they will happen! Here’s to 2012, the best is yet to come!
