Why 10K gold?
10K gold is solid gold — not plated or filled.
With a slightly lower pure gold content (41.7%) than 14K (58.3%), it offers exceptional durability making it a perfect choice for daily wear. We’ve long admired vintage 9 karat gold British jewelry; and on Vana's recent sourcing trips to Britain and Italy, she's sought out some beautiful vintage pieces crafted in 9K gold — heirlooms that have endured for generations.
Is there a visual difference?
Since none of our charms are marked with a karat stamp, the 10K gold charms will feature a slightly different loop design while still maintaining visual continuity. This is a subtle difference and designed to integrate seamlessly with existing charms.
In terms of color, 10k gold may appear slightly paler when worn next to a 14k charm.
Why offer both?
We believe in choice. Some clients will continue to prefer 14K for its higher gold content, warmer tone and being widely recognized as the industry standard for fine jewelry intended for everyday wear. Others may appreciate 10K for its durability and more accessible entry point — especially when adding multiple charms to represent a growing family.
