Our Rebrand Process with Palindrome Creative Co

Our Rebrand Process with Palindrome Creative Co

Last week we launched our new brand and we couldn't be happier! We received so much love and support from our community which was really the cherry on top! When I began the process I had many concerns and insecurities but with the help of a wonderful design agency, I was able to make it to launch day confident and ready for this new chapter in business!

I thought It would be fun to go over the process and share some of the most important aspects of our rebrand.

Early on, I decided to hire a small local branding agency - Palindrome Creative Co. The entire process was wonderful and I enjoyed working with Anna so much. I summarized the process and am sharing it below...

The initial process
Palindrome was recommended to me by another small business in town. We set up a meeting and started talking about my goals with the rebrand. It gave them a chance to get to know the brand and overall project before working together. From there, Palindrome customized the process based on our unique needs. After all, no project is the same!

When I first reached out, I made it clear that I cared a great deal about rebranding the right way and explained why it was the right time to do so. I trusted their input and brought them into the fold of my business pain points and future vision, which allowed them to design a brand that made sense. We went through a series of logo options before arriving at a final logo, then built out the rest of the visual identity from there.

A match made in heaven...
It’s so important to find the right agency to work with. Hiring a designer is a big step for a lot of people, and many have never done it before. It was important for me to feel comfortable and get all my questions and concerns heard and addressed. Designing is an investment and both sides must be excited about the process and willing to take that leap of faith. I was able to trust Anna fully. A perk of working with a small studio like Palindrome is that each project is very personalized and they take great care to get to know the people behind the business. Helping clients fulfill their design dreams while also offering expert advice on what makes sense is a balancing act and they were natural at it!

The difference between a rebrand and an entirely new brand...
The two are very different! A rebrand introduces new challenges, but it’s a lot of fun. One of the special things about our rebrand is that our business already had a story and legacy of loyal customers. It was great to be able to share what that journey had been like for us and tap into that story. Palindrome had no desire to alter or rewrite our story but rather continue it. Brands are living, breathing things that sometimes need to evolve to reflect the growth of the business. This was the case with our need to rebrand! In fact, it as a sign that our business had been successful and was continuing to grow.

Anna took a great care in the process of transitioning our existing brand into a new aesthetic, knowing how important it was to maintain the trust of our customers who’ve been with us for years. We spent a lot of time talking about how to make the transition so that didn’t feel too new or different. Since our products are extremely personal, family heirlooms that customers will have for a lifetime, it became apparent that trust is important. At the end of the day, we want our customers to know that although the name and design evolved, it’s still the same business they know and love.

The in between and the end…
Palindrome started the rebranding project with a strategy. This was so important! Design is thinking made visual, so having a strategy in place helped turn the ethos of our company into a visual identity. At the end, we had a set of visual tools–colors, fonts, and a set of logos that weren't just beautiful to look at but which embody our core values and help us to tell our story.
