GARDEN: The Beginning of a special place.

Hello, it’s me Callie Grayson.
I am so excited to be here today!  I have been working on my back yard for the past couple of weeks and I would like to share the progress with you here on Vana’s blog. Thank you Vana for allowing me to share my inspiration on your beautiful blog!

The first thing I did when I moved to the neighborhood was walk the blocks to see the yards and landscaping that I really loved.  I made friends. I asked questions and chatted up my neighbors. Most of them have given me plants from their yards. I have found people who garden love to share their beautiful flowers and plants. BUT I do have to say, the photos above are of my neighbor across the alley whom I have NEVER met. I was sneaky at 6:00 am pointing my camera over their fence to snap these shots!  I love the birdhouse which I can see from my yard. Oh, and that arbor of dried branches. Their yard is truly pretty!
Next, I started an inspiration board of colours and flowers as well as fire pit, bbq and bird feeders that I really would love to have in my back yard.

Then I started sketching in my journal. Just notes and idea’s of what I want the back yard to look like.  I have only coloured the area’s that I have completed. I will continue to note and colour as I complete area’s.  I guess you could say it is more of a record than plan.

In a few weeks you will see the transformation of what I have been doing. The photo above is a before photo of the Peony area. It’s looking pretty pathetic! weeds, spindly peonies, just out of control! I am so excited to show you the transformation which I will post in a few weeks. *Just waiting for it fill in a bit with all this rain, it won’t be long*
