Necklace Length Guide
Whether you're shopping for yourself or a gift for a loved one, we want you to feel confident with the length of necklace that you order! We offer a variety of styles and lengths and have developed this guide to help you measure or estimate the best length and weight to suit your style.
Which Length is Best?
While largely a personal preference, here are a few things to consider:
- The wearer's height, torso length, chest size, and overall body type. A 20" chain will look different on somebody with a larger chest or neck compared to somebody with a shorter torso or smaller build.
- The weight of the charm(s) will affect how the chain sits. Tiny charms do not weight very much, a single tiny charm may not pull the chain down and it will sit in more of a loose curve. Multiple or larger sized charms may pull the necklace into more of a point and sit a bit lower than shown on our model guide images.
- Our Chain Extenders are a great way to add additional length. You're not stuck if you think the chain is too short! We're happy to help you with several ways to find a length that best suits you. Please reach out to us at any point during the ordering process!
Sizing Guides
Our guides were created using our most popular Classic Dainty Chain, used for all of our Classic Silhouette Necklaces, with no charms.
HOW TO MEASURE FOR MYSELF?
You can use a piece of string or ribbon to lightly wrap around the base of your neck where it begins to meet your shoulders. This will give you your neck circumference to compare to our examples above. You can also hold the string/ribbon where you would like your necklace to sit. Keeping in mind the necklace will be a bit heavier and the size/weight of the charm(s) will pull the chain down.
Chain Styles
We offer a range of styles for you to choose from! All of our Custom Silhouette Necklaces, by default, use our Classic Dainty Chain. This is by far our most popular style, but we love creating custom styles and pairings for our customers. Shop our options below.
