A Moment of Reflection

A few nights ago, I couldn’t make myself fall asleep. I kept thinking about where I’ve come from and where I’m going next. Not sure what triggered my thoughts. I’m sure you all had one of those nights, no?
I started this blog around the same time I started my business as a way to document the process of creative work and motherhood. I think I’ve come a long way! Wouldn’t you agree?
Keeping a blog has been a rewarding experience for me. I had no idea what I was going to say or do when I first started out but during these past years not only have I discovered  and followed my passion but have come to know and inspire some of the most supporting people there is, YOU! So thank you , for following along and believing in my story!
These past 2 and a half years have been life-changing for me. I started Le Papier Studio soon after attending Country Living Women Entrepreneurs workshop in Chicago in March of 2008 as a part time hobby and a way to express my creativity at the end of a work day.  I was so happy to work all that magic from my tiny home workspace. Fast forward, a year and a half later, I was contacted by Chronicle Books and asked to write a book for them which will be published this October.  A month ago I made the decision to move my studio outside the home into a physical location. I hired a part time studio assistant who in less than a month has proved to be amazing! Pinch me!!
While you all have been cheering me on my professional achievements I have been selective at how much and what I share about my personal life on this blog. Most of you may be following this blog because you’re inspired by my professional journey. Is this why you’re here? I really would like to know (OK,  more like dying to know!). If it is true, I am so glad!
Some of you may be mothers and visit my blog because you’re interested in finding out how I balance creative work and family life. If that’s you, welcome! I really don’t have a formula:)  I just go for it and in the process I remind myself of the things that matter the most to me. But whoever you are and for whatever reason you follow my blog, I want to take a moment today and thank YOU! It’s been great having you here!
What’s next? Who knows! Something tells me it’s all good!
