DO IT if you can!

We’ve been in Greece, since this Tuesday. After a long and a bit restless flight to Athens, we drove 3 hrs to Evia. My sisters’ kids are 1 and 2 1/2 years younger than Nikolas, and they have become quite the best friends. We take them to the beach ( a 3 min drive/10 min walk from the house) in the morning for a couple of hours – than again late afternoon. It’s been a while since I have seen Nikolas have this much fun! Which made me think about how I feel…
I was nervous planning this trip. I didn’t know how being away from the studio would effect my business. Well, let me tell you how it has. I’ve been able to keep up with customers’ request, questions, order proofs just fine. It sure helped to find the best wireless internet connection (thanks to a family member who so willingly let me borrow their on-the-go “USB gem” – as I like to call it). Every morning I check for new messages, orders and attend to them for 30 mins to 1 hr. I should mention here that I have the best assistant ever – my dear Aaron who has been helping me from overseas. I complete any proofs or special requests either in the morning or late at night when Nikolas goes to sleep and than email them to customers or put them on the Dropbox for Aaron to print and send to their happy homes. So far, so good!
Which made me think it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be… So here’s my two cents to you: If you can take a break, do it! Not only will you be happier but those around you will love you for it. And your business will be better because of it.
