Our Vacation in Charleston, SC

Still looking through pictures…and daydreaming of life in Charleston!

Friends warn us of never wanting to leave Charleston. I joked “what’s in a city that would make us want to dream of returning for good one day!”I know now!

If there was one thing I could take with me would be the way I felt walking the streets of Charleston. I sensed a feeling of belonging, something I’ve never felt in Chicago or elsewhere in any of the cities we’ve visited. It reminded me of being back home. For those of you who have visited Charleston, you know what I am talking about.

I will try to do very little writing and allow the pictures I took with my iPhone to show you. I hope you’ll enjoy this short visit to places we visited and things we did.

The boys at the Patriot Point (home to the USS Yorktown).

Perusing the streets of downtown Charleston, and dreaming of moving here one day.

The following three pictures are from the home of a new talented architect friend. He designed, build this home from the inside out. We were blown away with his attention to detail and the ability to use every square inch of  this small, one of a kind jewel of a home.  Seeing this might have sealed the deal! Now onto planning our move (jk!)…no, really!

We took walks, visited art galleries, enjoyed the fine cuisine of Charleston, frolicked the ocean waves, met new friends. I can see us do these things all over again and again – until we make the decision to move here one day.

At the Savannah Bee Honey Company and Lily’s (the prettiest little shop!) on the famous historic King Street.

At Jestine’s Kitchen in Charleston – Recommended by a friend. The best Fried Chicken I’ve ever had. These faces are proof of it!

There you have it! I hope you enjoyed the pictures.
